Why I started Super-summaries

I love reading, writing, and learning. But my experience as a writer leaves me unsatisfied as a reader. Too many authors say too little using too many words. They bury their main points. They waste time. And then I can’t remember what they said. Frustrating!

A colleague tells me I have a knack for finding the vital information in any pile of words, or the essential argument in any debate. If true, I wondered if I could create a product that would provide…

Potent information in a concise package with total recall!

It’s the kind of product I would buy, so I thought others might want it too. Thus was born Super-summaries. But I also wanted something more…

I want to know not only the best arguments for a position, but also the best arguments against it. Confirmation bias is a scourge. Walt Whitman said it well in Blue Ontario’s Shore

Piety and conformity to them that like
Peace, obesity, allegiance, to them that like…
I am he who walks the States with a barb’d tongue,
questioning everyone I meet,
Who are you that wanted only to be told what you knew before?

I want to know all the best arguments, and then decide. If you want that too, I will try to provide it. I hope you decide to take this journey with me. It only costs $1.99 per month.

About Perry Willis

I have worked as a professional libertarian for nearly 40 years. I was twice Perry Willisthe National Director of the Libertarian National Committee. I worked on 5 Libertarian Party presidential campaigns, and managed 2 of them, including the Harry Browne campaign in 2000. I co-founded Downsize DC and the Zero Aggression Project. I co-created the Read the Bills Act and the One Subject at a Time Act, both of which have been introduced in Congress. I publish two blogs, What-the-future-needs.com, and Super-summaries.com. With regard to my other blog…

I think the future needs…

Modern minds. Our brains evolved in the Stone Age. Our problems were mostly physical then. Now our problems are mostly intellectual. We need to remodel our brains to fit our new conditions.

Non-aggression. People must learn to stop using politics and The State to impose their personal preferences on others. Consent matters in EVERYTHING!

Better institutions. We need more institutions that practice peaceful persuasion and voluntary cooperation. We need less of The State. Non-aggression must be reflected in all our institutions.

Space civilization. We need to live less on Earth and more in space. But new planets are not the answer. We need O’Neil colonies!

Radical life extension. We need to be younger longer. If you disagree no one will force you to participate.

Interstellar relationship. I think we are being visited by ETs. We need to learn why they’re not talking to us, so we can gain access to their knowledge. And if our rulers have some of that knowledge already, we need to make them share it with us.

Sex positivity. Nietzsche had it right – sex is the presupposition of life. The nature of a person’s sexuality defines their spirit. It is as an aesthetic experience that life and the world are justified. Sex is the supreme aesthetic experience, or should be. Sex negativity is uncivilized, and a mark of our species’ insanity, which brings us back to my first point about the need for modern minds.
